Seasonal Care

Seasonal pond care by project stage

Seasonal pond care works best when products are matched to the pond's current conditions, not just the calendar. Spring startup, summer algae pressure, fall debris, and winter oxygen needs all call for different maintenance priorities.

How to think by season

  • Spring: restart filtration, remove debris, check pump flow, and support biological filtration as temperatures rise.
  • Summer: manage algae pressure, oxygen demand, feeding, UV performance, and water clarity.
  • Fall: reduce leaf load, remove sludge, protect pumps, and prepare for colder water.
  • Winter: maintain gas exchange, avoid unsafe ice sealing, and review de-icing or aeration needs.
  • Before treatments: test ammonia, nitrite, pH, KH, and chlorine/chloramine when fish health is a concern.

How to use this collection
